Cobe Siebrecht season preview
Cobe Siebrecht is competing for South Dakota State for his senior season. Siebrecht transferred to SDSU from Iowa where he was a 2023 NCAA Qualifier at 157.
In the most recent InterMat Rankings Siebrecht is ranked #17 in the country at 157.
In June Siebrecht won the 70kg/154 lbs. Gold at the 2024 Matteo Pellicone Memorial in Sassari, Italy. He was 4-0 and outscord his opponents by a combined 36-7.
Siebrecht was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection in 2022-24 at Iowa.
Originally from Lisbon, Iowa, Siebrecht was a three-time state finalist and a 2019 1A state champion at 138. He wrestled for Hall of Fame coach Brad Smith.
In the opening dual meet against Augustana on November 4 Sibrecht won by a fall in 4:14.
At the Daktronics Invitational last weekend Siebrecht was 3-0 with a pin and major decision.
SDSU is a member of the Big 12 Conference and all dual meets and tournaments will be available to watch online.
Cade, the youngest of the Siebrecht brothers, also transferred to SDSU from Iowa and is a redshirt sophomore at 149. Cade was a two-time state champion at Lisbon.
